Chng Joo Ching began serving as Board Secretary of Scripture Union in June 2025. With more than four decades of ministry experience, he brings a deep love for the church, and a heart committed to serving others.

A long-time member of Zion Gospel Mission in Singapore, Joo Ching started in lay ministry in 1980. Over the years, he has taken on a variety of roles including Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and Church Board member. In 2005, he joined the church’s full-time staff, continuing to nurture and shepherd the community. From 2009 to 2022, he and his wife, Jocelyn, served as missionaries in the Philippines. After returning to Singapore, he served as a pastor for one and a half years before retiring from full-time pastoral duties.

Joo Ching holds a Bachelor of Theology from the Assemblies of God Bible College, Singapore, which has equipped him with a strong foundation in biblical teaching and spiritual leadership. His preaching philosophy is rooted in humility and trust in God’s leading—guided by a personal motto he lives by: “Prepare well, deliver effectively, and leave the rest to the work of the Holy Spirit.”

Outside of ministry, Joo Ching enjoys reading and playing badminton. He finds spiritual encouragement in the works of A.W. Tozer and Martyn Lloyd-Jones, whose writings continue to shape his walk with God.
