Global Connections

Scripture Union (SU) operates in 120 countries, in the regions of Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Former Soviet Republics and the Pacific. In some countries there are more than one movement such as Switzerland (French speaking and German speaking), or Australia (where each state has a separate movement.) Each movement has a strong commitment to expressing the aims of SU in ways appropriate to each context. As the world becomes increasingly globally connected, we have opportunities for mutual support, sharing, and partnership within Scripture Union and with other agencies. In 2012, SU around the world embarked on a global initiative, ‘Living Hope’, to define global priorities for ministry and leadership development. In order to fulfil this and to be better positioned to operate in a globalised setting, major structural changes were agreed upon, the first since 1960. Regions were dissolved and replaced by Community Groups and a Global Board.

Today, SU remains committed to working with churches to make God’s Good News known to children, young people and families and to helping people of all ages meet God through the Bible and prayer. SU Singapore is part of the Scripture Union family in Asia. We are a companion country mentoring SU entities in Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam (HCMC). There are now many varieties of ministry around the world. Our vision is that, as people of all ages come to faith in Christ, they will then be the means of transformation in their communities, the nations, and the world.

To Engage. To Experience. To Empower

Scripture Union Vietnam (HCMC) organizes Youth Camps for youth leaders in the country. These are opportunities for forging new bonds through worship, prayer and team building. One of the key highlights in such camps, would be a forum to discuss how to build Youth Ministries in local churches. This is with one mission in mind: to reveal more of God and His goodness and to share the Gospel.

Scripture Union Vietnam aims to create a curriculum that is inclusive, informative and engaging for all children regardless of their background or abilities. Our hope is to provide a safe, fun, interacting and nurturing environment where children can learn about Jesus and grow in their faith. To make this vision a reality , we need your help. Any amount you can give will make difference.

Scripture Union Singapore has been partnering Scripture Union Myanmar in developing the Children’s Community Clubs outreach project. Many have heard the Gospel through this activity. By faith, we will continue to assist SU Myanmar in expanding the Children’s Community Clubs in the regional deltas. We have also provided the "Certificate in Practical Children’s Ministry" training to their ministry workers, to enhance their knowledge and skills to reach many for Jesus.

By the grace of God, Scripture Union Myanmar has started using technology for their Children’s Community Clubs. Hardware has been received, to support connectivity for virtual online training. All glory to God for His provision and support through prayer from the Scripture Union family.

Scripture Union Thailand provides training for the Christian community for the outreach of the Gospel. Here we have a group of Sunday School teachers receiving their Certificates for Sunday School Teachers Training. Above are parents, in a parenting training session conducted by SU Thailand. Parents are taught and encouraged to raise families with Biblical based values.
